Founded by industry veterans Claudia Scott-Hansen and Rob Bencal, who bring combined talent and expertise in the development of intellectual properties from concept to screen to shelf, Cookbook Media provides solutions for property development, global content distribution, and consumer products.

CLAUDIA
With over 25 years of experience in media rights distribution and global franchise development, Claudia is an accomplished media professional with a focus in the children’s entertainment arena. Prior to forming Cookbook Media, Claudia served as Senior Vice President, Global Distribution, at The Jim Henson Company, where she spearheaded media rights and content partnerships. She has served as Vice President, Business Development, at 9 Story Media Group. In that role, she led the company’s global partnerships as well as the strategic management of the Digital and Consumer Products divisions for shows such as Daniel Tiger and Wild Kratts, and worked to align development and co-production partners to finance the production of new properties.
Previously, Claudia was Senior Vice President & Group Director Broadcast, Americas and EMEA at HIT Entertainment (owned by Mattel since 2012), responsible for the content distribution of iconic titles such as Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder, Barbie and Hot Wheels. Claudia has also held the position of Head of Formats and Head of Southern European Distribution during a ten-year tenure at BBC Worldwide, based in London. Her first kids’ show launch was Teletubbies in 1997.
ROB
With an extensive career specializing in kids and family entertainment, Rob has held various positions at leading toy and media companies, including a 13-year tenure at Mattel, Inc. While at Mattel, he led global brand marketing and development of many successful toy lines across the Disney and Nickelodeon portfolios, including renowned brands Dora the Explorer, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and more. When Mattel acquired HIT Entertainment, Rob was tapped to help build the global content and franchise activation strategy for HIT’s portfolio of brands, including Thomas & Friends.
He then was appointed to oversee content strategy and distribution for the Mattel portfolio of brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, and American Girl. Rob also held a role on the corporate development team where he led partnerships with top entertainment companies. Prior to launching Cookbook Media, served as Vice President of Business Development & Entertainment at Tongal, a community content creation platform used by studios, brands, and talent all over the world. Earlier in his career, Rob held roles at Hasbro, Kids 2, and Empire Industries.
